It wasn’t very long ago that news came out of Shenmue III being a timed exclusive deal for Epic Games Store. While the PlayStation 4 platform would be unaffected by this decision, those who had donated to the Kickstarter campaign with the intentions of receiving a Steam code for Shenmue III were none too pleased. As a result, the development studio is offering those who are not wanting to play a copy of the game through Epic Games Store a refund. This is some solid news for fans that are committed to waiting for the upcoming Steam platform release, but just be ready in having to wait a few months for your refund to go through the system.
Thanks to a post on the NeoGaf forums, we got word of a new Kickstarter mailer that went out. Shenmue III is nearly upon us but it’s getting about time to deal with the gamers who are not happy over losing the Steam platform choice they had originally backed. As a result, players will receive a survey in the next couple of weeks which will outline some information. Among that information is the refund request that players can opt for if they had selected a copy of the game for the PC platform.
Shenmue 4 Will Happen If Ys Net Can Secure Funds And Partners
Refunds will apparently take anywhere from twenty business days to complete or at the latest, three months. It all comes down to the payment service and transaction status.
Refund requests will be accepted only through the backer survey during the survey period. Processing details will be announced at the start of the survey period.
Refund processing timing may vary depending on payment service and transaction status. It may take up to 20 business days to 3 months from the time the refund request is made until the refund transaction is completed.
We promise to proceed with refund request processing promptly and reliably, however, due to the fact that the campaign is now 4 years on, along with the complexity of the transactions and payment service system arrangements, we ask for your understanding that processing times may vary depending on individual transaction circumstances.
As a result of the potentially long waiting period for the game refund to go through, this may sway some players to go ahead and accept the Epic Games Store platform code. That is of course purely speculation, but it’s at least something that could play in a role of how many still opt for the refund.
Shenmue III Confirmed As An Epic Games Store Exclusive
For those of you who plan to keep the game, it’s also noted that the in-game rewards backers had reached will not be removed from the game. This is because the development is already nearing completion so the potential loss of funds would not play a role on if content will be removed. As for when players can expect Shenmue III to release, the game is slated to launch on November 19, 2019, for the PlayStation 4 and PC platforms.
