In the last few years, we’ve seen big resurgence towards classic video game consoles. Outside of retro game hunters that seek out those old gems from yesteryear, companies were playing on the nostalgia factor of gamers. With the launch of miniature sized consoles that were packed with video games, players who were interested in going through some of the old school video games had an opportunity that was not only cost-effective but easy to store.
With systems like the Nintendo Entertainment System Classic, gamers quickly flocked to the store shelves to get a unit before they were sold out. It allowed players the ability to not only have a decor item to display on their shelves but a means to also to play several classic video game titles. These video game consoles were packed with several iconic titles that made the particular system a hit within various regions around the world. With that said, these systems were not always a big hitter. The biggest example is the PlayStation Classic, a mini version of the PSX that did not come packed with the iconic video game titles gamers had hoped for. Likewise, the UI looked extremely dated and players were given the original PlayStation controller that lacked analog controls.
While the PlayStation Classic didn’t hit the strides that Sony had hoped for, Sega is hoping that their Sega Genesis Mini does a bit better. We’ve seen this console announced in the past and with a nice assortment of video game titles. Today a new video upload was released to further showcase the console before it releases next month.
The Sega Genesis Mini will be launching on September 19, 2019, where it will include a total of forty video game titles and two classic 3-button control pads. For a look at the full details, list of games and the ability to pre-order a unit then check out the official web page right here.
