Cyberpunk 2077 is a highly anticipated video game title under CD Projekt Red. After the highly successful and beloved franchise came to an end, The Witcher, the development team was able to put a bigger focus on their upcoming neo cyberpunk RPG. We have been waiting for more information to come out into the light for this game and as E3 came to a close, news about what to expect is still coming out. One of those shreds of news was in regards to street cred and how gamers will be balancing between good and poor reception.
The lead quest design Mateusz Tomaszkiewicz spoke with Game Informer and alerted to the publication in regards to what gamers can expect with the street cred reputation. In this game, you’ll be playing a mercenary which means you’re paycheck only comes when you seek out jobs. However, getting highly lucrative jobs will require some experience. In this game, the experience is essentially called street cred and the more successful jobs you pull off the better your street cred is. As a result of positive street cred, some of the bigger gangs will keep your name and offer you jobs personally. These jobs will provide a bigger paycheck and likely allow you to collect those costly augmentations a bit more regularly.
However, having great street cred can be a downfall as well. The more well-known you are the easier it will be to recognize you in the game. This can make some jobs difficult to complete purely on how often you’ll get caught early into the mission. This ultimately means that you’ll be playing a balancing act to keep your street cred at a high paying level but still staying rather anonymous when needed to maneuver around certain areas.
As for when you can pick up Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red alerted fans at E3 2019 that the game will be launching on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and lastly, the PC platform on April 16, 2019.
