There were plenty of rumors and speculation pieces going around online about Microsoft’s Xbox One console lineup. Not only does Microsoft have the standard Xbox One, Xbox One S and the Xbox One X, but a new edition was announced today. Like the rumors have stated, Microsoft is bringing out a digital-only Xbox One S, a console that would have all the bells and whistles of a normal Xbox One S but just without the disc drive. This will allow gamers to save quite a bit of money towards a brand new console.
Microsoft is pushing digital services with the upcoming streaming service and Xbox Games Pass, enjoying the latest titles won’t be a problem if you’re okay with not owning an actual physical copy. Not to mention that most users are using some sort of digital streaming service for media consumption such as Netflix. There does seem to be a trend lately to leave behind physical content for an easier to manage digital service, but that will require a stable internet connection. At any rate, if you’re looking for an Xbox One console and not having a disc drive then you may find the Xbox One S all-digital version to be appealing for its $249.99 price tag. Not to mention that this console will come with three bundled titles including Minecraft, Forza Horizon and Sea of Thieves.
This console won’t actually be available until next month. If you’re interested in the console then you can expect its release on May 7, 2019. With this rumor of an all-digital Xbox One confirmed we expect Microsoft stay relatively quiet with announcements and confirmations until E3 this year. Recently Microsoft has confirmed their schedule for the press conference this year at E3 and it’s expected to be quite a big show.
