Nintendo held a special Pokemon-centered Direct today and developer Game Freak officially announced the upcoming Pokemon titles for the Nintendo Switch.
Being dubbed as Pokemon Sword and Shield players will be able to finally get to play the legendary and iconic series on the hybrid console — both at home and on the go. During the reveal, we did get to see a little bit of the game in action including the new starter pokemon!
Fans should formerly get acquainted with the new starters who are: Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. All three pokemon come with their iconic roles — fire, earth, and water, but this time around the new starters, like Pokemon games in the past, look entirely different.
We also got a sneak peek at the new world of — Galar region! The map seems to be expensive with sprawling cities, deep forests, and a snowy region. So far Pokemon Sword and Shield is looking pretty good. The reveal was only 7-minutes long so we didn’t get too much information about the game, but we do know that it is set to release in late 2019 for the Nintendo switch.
