To round off the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 multiplayer DLC, Treyarch will release the fourth and final DLC called Apocalypse. Apocalypse will include four new multiplayer maps alongside another Zombies map.
To begin the DLC, the Pod map will place players in a failed utopic city in a '70s Taiwan. With all of the inhabitants abandoning the compound long ago, players will engage in firefights on the tops of residential pods and navigate through their interiors.
For the Frost map players will head to snowy European city where a bridge splits two sides of a frozen canal.
For a warmer environment, players will head inside the Takeoff map original called 'Stadium' from the original Black Ops First Strike DLC. Although now a launch site, Takeoff will encourage the same close quarters combat found in Stadium.
To complete the multiplayer maps, fans will need to dive into their memory for the Black Ops 2 adaptation of Courtyard from Call of Duty: World at War. Courtyard, now known as Dig, will center on an Afghani archaeological dig site. Since the original map contained tanks, Treyarch modified the map to accommodate Black Ops 2 without losing the map's original feel.
Yesterday Treyarch released a Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Origins trailer that many failed to recognize its purpose. With the announcement of the map pack we learned that origins refers to the new Zombies map. The new Zombies map will places players in a Dieselpunk-stylized World War I-era France where players will run into familiar allies from the first Zombies map. Players will also need to use the new perks and power-ups to defeat the 1000-foot tall robot.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 Apocalypse DLC will launch on August 27th on Xbox 360 for 1200 Microsoft points.
