Tomb Raider’s latest reboot in 2013 really brought a resurgence to the franchise. Since its initial release we have received a sequel titled Rise of the Tomb Raider and we’re now gearing up for the next big installment, Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
The upcoming installment doesn’t launch until September of this year so while we still have just a few more weeks to wait the Microsoft Xbox team has decided to bring on two additional titles to the Xbox One backward compatibility list.
Included in the list are Tomb Raider Legend and Tomb Raider Anniversary. When it comes to the story, Tomb Raider Legend was a reboot to the franchise back in 2007 where players end up going on a new quest to find all of the missing pieces of the Excalibur sword while Tomb Raider: Anniversary released in the same year but as a remake of the very first Tomb Raider video game.
Now that both video games are backward compatible, players will be able to replay or go through both titles for the very first time while waiting for the next main installment to release. Just as before, if you already own the game then you can load it into the Xbox One in order to trigger a download or if the video games were purchased digitally the copies will be attached to your account ready to be downloaded once again.
