Arkane Studios has made a few video game titles over the years but they may very well be best known for their Dishonored series as of late. First entering the market in 2012, the video game franchise has since seen three titles launch but now it looks like it may be a little while before we see another video game installment release.
The announcement came after VG247 spoke with Arkane lead designer Ricardo Bare during QuakeCon 2018. When the topic of Dishonored came up, Ricardo Bane stated that the video game franchise, at the current moment, is taking a break.
“I can’t say definitively what might happen down the road, anything could happen, but (Dishonored) is resting for now.”
This may not be a big surprise as we have seen three titles release launch within the past few years with the latest being Dishonored: Death of the Outsider which came out just last year in 2017. However, the same tone and experiences that players have gone through in the beloved franchise will be carried over to their other current projects.
Players will be able to expect a deep immersive story with gameplay forcing players to figure things out on their own.
“The things that are important to us as a studio are coherent, deep world building and environmental storytelling- we’re always going to craft spaces that you feel like you’re visiting, whether it’s Dunwall or Talos 1.”
Currently, we’re unsure as to what the next video game project Arkane Studios is working on next.
