Online retailer Amazon has now discounted the pre-order price of Square Enix's Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII. Previously, Amazon listed the Final Fantasy XIII spin-off with a peculiar price tag of $69.99, which is $10 higher than what most current-gen games cost these days.
Now, in a product listing update on February 2, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII iis back to the normal price of $59.99, for both the Xbox 360 and PS3.
I gather the earlier price might have been just a mistake on Amazon's part, since almost all current-gen games are priced at the $60 price point. Of course, there's a chance that it wasn't a typo, but if so, Square Enix should really have something special up their sleeves to warrant the $10 price hike.
For those unfamiliar with the game, Lightning Returns: Final Fantasxy XIII is the sequel to Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIII-2. It will star Lightning as Square Enix finally puts a stamp on its Final Fantasy XIII miniseries.

Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII is scheduled to hit this fall for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
