Double Fine’s newest title, The Cave, is now available for pre-order on Steam. Developed by adventure games maestro Ron Gilbert, The Cave sees players taking on the roles of multiple characters who venture into the depths of a mysterious cave to uncover its secrets, and in doing so, discover things about themselves.
Designed in the vein of the classic adventure titles Day of the Tentacle, and Maniac Mansion, players must choose from three of seven unlikely adventures each time they delve into the cave, and get to know those characters personally. The cave itself is filled with mysterious locations including a subterranean amusement park, a medieval castle, and a nuclear missile launch facility.
Players who pre-order the game on Steam will receive three special items for use in Team Fortress 2 for the Engineer class, which you can see in the picture below.
The Cave will also be available this January on both XBLA and the PlayStation Network.
