New Dead Space 3 Kinect Trailer Shows Off Co-op Voice Commands

January 7, 2013 by Holly Green

This unique feature will allow you and your partner to quickly help each other in combat.

The Kinect has famously been an epic letdown in the motion control department, culminating in few uses of actual redeeming value outside of dancing games. It's implementation in titles outside the physical fitness genre has been limited mostly to voice commands, and in the case of the upcoming Dead Space 3, it's no different. What IS different however, is the co-op command features, made to accommodate the game's two player campaign. In the above video you can see the system in use, which has the means to quick heal, share ammo, and find your co-op partner. Other commands allow for switching weapons, engaging statsis mode, or find your objective using a trail based locator, allowing for less fumbling at the controller and easier gameplay.

Dead Space 3 arrives on PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 on February 5, 2013.
