When the Wii U hit store shelves about a month ago, one could say that it was not quite ready for prime time, as evidenced with the ginormous update that was required after powering the system up for the first time. And even then, some key features were absent.
Well yet another missing piece of the puzzle is finally here. The Nintendo TVii will become available for download starting tomorrow.
For those unfamiliar, the Nintendo TVii is a free, integrated that pulls together all of one's televised content, whether it be from streaming services or on demand programming that's provided by cable or satellite providers.
Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime states:
"Wii U owners have already experienced the transformative effect that the GamePad has on game play and social interaction. Nintendo TVii shows how the integrated second screen of the GamePad can also transform and enhance the TV viewing experience. Welcome to the new world of TVii."
In addition to having a one stop hub to navigate and organize said programming, the GamePad's screen will offer up additional information for some programming, including cast information, live stats and scores for sports programming, plus movie reviews from Rotten Tomatoes.
It's an ambitions undertaking to say the least. Hopefully all that time spent getting it ready will means a flawless, easy to digest experience. Though we won't really know until tomorrow morning.
