The competitive gaming scene is massive with bigger tournaments popping up yearly with bigger prize pools, offering gamers and teams an incentive to work hard at honing their gaming skills to use against their potential opponents. Years ago, Nintendo introduced their own tournament known as the Nintendo World Championships, where skilled gamers attempted to reach the top score or best time in order to win grand prizes.
Nintendo has since brought back the Nintendo World Championships in the past during E3 2015 and again, the Nintendo company is looking to revive their event this year for gamers all around the United States and Canada.
This Nintendo World Championships 2017 kicks off in October of this year where players must make their way to a local Best Buy retail location who is participating in the event. From there, Nintendo has implemented two age brackets for players looking to qualify for the Nintendo World Championships 2017.
Oddly enough, the game choice is a Nintendo 3DS title with gamers having to beat other players in the best time for Mario Kart 7. The age brackets will determine what level you will be playing on to qualify for the event.
Out first age group is 12 and younger who will play as Mario on the Luigi’s Mansion course, using the Standard Kart, Standard Wheels, and Super Glider.
As for the second group which starts from 13 years and up, they will play as Bower on the Bower Castle 1 game course. Likewise, the Standard Kart, Standard Wheels, and Super Glider will be used for the game as well.
Outside of the qualifying race, gamers who attend the event can play Super Mario Odyssey for the Nintendo Switch and Metroid: Samus Returns for the Nintendo 3DS.
Once again, the Nintendo World Championships 2017 will kick off on October 7, 2017, though you can learn more details about the tournament and event from the official website right here.
