There are three endings in Sundered, and all three depend on the status of your Elder Shard collecting. You’ll earn an Elder Shard after defeating those big bad bosses found in each of the three major locations, but there are 7 Elder Shards in total. That means you’ll have to stray off the beaten path to find those extra Shards.
Elder Shards have two uses (three, if you count the endings) — you can corrupt your abilities at the cost of your sanity, or feed the shards to the furnace and ignore any enhanced abilities. I’ll list locations for all the extra Elder Shards and how to earn all three endings. That includes the name of the final bosses you’ll have to tackle for each — yes, there are three different final bosses in Sundered. That’s a good reason to replay.

There are three endings in Sundered, and unlocking them requires using all 7 Elder Shards. You’ll need to corrupt or destroy all 7 to get the best / worst ending, while the third (most common) ending is simple — just use a few, don’t get them all.
- Hidden Elder Shard Locations:
- Shard #1: Region #1 – Before entering the Main Boss Arena, you’ll have to enter a room that’s identical every time. It won’t change between deaths. Find the hidden Elder Shard in the top-left corner of this laser-filled room.
- Shard #2: Region #2 – Find the extremely tall room (eye symbol) with multiple exits on the left / right. This room is identical every time. Start from the top-right door, and slide down the wall to reach a secret alcove with the second hidden Elder Shard.
- Shard #3: Region #3 – Activate and ride the high elevator shortcut to the very top of the shaft, then use the hooks high upwards until you find the third and final secret Elder Shard.
The other four Elder Shards are acquired by defeating all the four main boss battles. Yes, there’s a New Game+ mode, so you can give all your options a try with all your abilities unlocked.
How To Unlock Every Ending
To unlock all three endings in Sundered, follow these steps. They’re very simple.
- Nyarlathotep – Common Ending
- Final Boss: Nyarlathotep
- Requirements: Use at least one Elder Shard to corrupt an ability. Don’t use all 7, and don’t destroy all 7.
- One With The Void – Corrupt Ending
- Final Boss: Humanity
- Requirements: Use all 7 Elder Shards to corrupt 7 abilities.
- Beacon of Hope – Pure Ending
- Final Boss: The Shining Trapezohedron
- Requirements: Destroy all 7 Elder Shards in the Incinerator, found in Area #1.
