Bandai Namco has announced that PS4 will be receiving an open-beta for their anime-based fighting title, Gundam Versus. While there is no official date or news on what to expect on the beta, Namco has stated that they will release details “soon”.
Players who pre-order the title will receive exclusive access to BN-876 Hot Scramble Gundam as well as DLC characters like ASW-G-08 Gundam Barbatos Lupus and GN-005 Gundam Virtue.
This marks the Gundam series’ home console debut outside of Japan. The explosive 2v2 and 3v3 team-based gameplay has been rebuilt from the ground up, specifically for PlayStation 4, and lets players take control of a selection of 90+ Mobile Suits which come loaded with unique weapon systems and new mobility options. Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing for Bandai Namco Entertainment America is excited to be launching the series to a new market:
“For more than 35 years the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise has fostered a highly engaged and energetic community…We are excited to release GUNDAM VERSUS to those fans eager for more Mobile Suit Gundamreleases in the West, as well as introducing the franchise a brand new expanded audience.”
