According to a tipster on Reddit, we may soon see two more chapters of Skyrim DLC. Going by the name MD_Stormcloak, the otherwise anonymous poster (who claims a close relationship with one of the Skyrim developers) says that at least two more installments of additional content is on the way, "exploring the beginnings of the Nords and Skyrim's culture, as well as the Snow Elves and yes, even the Dwarves. The last DLC will involve the choosing of a new King of Skyrim and the war against the elves."
The conflict between the Snow Elves and the Dwarves is alluded to heavily throughout Skyrim, and it's long been thought that the topic would be tackled in the DLC. Bethesda also typically issues a total of five downloadable add-ons in the course of their game's release, a precedent set by Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas. Between the two, I'm half inclined to believe this guy.
He also discusses the state of the continually stalled Skyrim DLC on PS3, blaming Sony for the delays, saying:
"They aren't being bribed by Microsoft, and they are just simply thumbing their noses at PS3 users…They genuinely want to get the product out there and have simply been met with problem after problem. It isn't just one thing, it's a large number of issues that have acted as roadblocks to them releasing content on the PS3."
MD_Stormcloak also says the new content will include spears and other enhancements "similar to mounted combat". The spears makes sense, given the animations are already available from Fallout: New Vegas, and the Dragonborn DLC allows players to reset skill points, so us higher level players could still use it. Do I think these rumors have merit or do I merely want them to? I guess we'll find out in the coming months.
