Vicarious Visions, The team behind the upcoming Crash Bandicoot remaster, has recently announced some performance details regarding the remaster on PS4 Pro.
Coming from the channel Hip Hop Gamer, Vicarious Visions developers have announced that Crash Bandicoot Trilogy N. Sane will run on PlayStation 4 Pro to a resolution of 1440p and with a locked framerate of 30fps.
This may prove disheartening news for some, especially considering Crash Bandicoot’s gameplay has always been focused on quick movements and dodges – but it would seem that the general consensus from those who have played the demos is that the low 30fps isn’t much of a deal breaker and that it still looks and feels brilliant. And it doesn’t seem to only be coming from the public, Naughty Dog recently stated that they are “Very, very impressed” with the remaster of Crash Bandicoot.
Personally, our dev team didn’t check in with them or anything. But through Sony, Naughty Dog has seen and played the games at a few different stages. And we’ve had feedback from them, and overwhelming it’s been positive. They’re very, very impressed, and quite touched, that we’re doing right by their original games.
Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy will be released on PlayStation 4 on June 30 (the collection includes the first three chapters of the successful saga created by Naughty Dog).
