Ubisoft’s MMORPG shooter, The Division, has been performing exceptionally well over the past year. During Ubisoft’s year-end fiscal earnings call to investors, the publisher and developer announced brilliant stats regarding the third-person shooter.
According to CEO Yves Guillemot, the game now has 44 million unique players with 150 percent growth in less than 18 months, and in terms of reoccurring spending, Guillemot stated that The Division ranked third behind Rainbow Six: Siege and The Crew. This generally means that Ubisoft will dedicate more time to maintaining the business plan by providing new content and expansions.
While players should note that 44 million unique players do not necessarily translate into active players, it is still an impressive statistic.
In other Ubisoft related news, The Avatar game won’t be releasing anytime soon.
“Avatar is one of the biggest and most powerful entertainment brands. Our first game was profitable and we have great plans for the new one, with a very strong studio and engine. The movie will be released end of 2020, so our game won’t be released before FY21.”
And Ubisoft is slated to release 3 new titles this year:
Today, Ubisoft has taken to Twitter to announce three new upcoming titles releasing this fiscal year. The three titles are the following: a new unnamed Assassins Creed title rumored to take place in Egypt, Far Cry 5 which is rumored to take place in a Western scenery, and lastly, The Crew 2.
