Fatal Frame Maiden of Black Water has received a release date for Europe, and more.
European gamers, of course, will get the game under the name Project Zero Maiden of Black Water. While Japanese players get the game much earlier on September 27, Europe gets it on October 30, just in time for All Hallow’s Eve.
Now, European gamers can choose to buy a special limited edition, which will bundle the retail disc in with a double sided poster, an art book, four Spirit Photographs, and a steelbook cover.
However, the most interesting and surprising reveal of them all comes for the free-to-start digital version. Yes, European gamers will get to play the prologue and the first two chapters for free. It will save your progress, and if you get converted, allow you to continue as you play the rest of the game at full retail price.
Both the free-to-start digital version and limited retail edition would be great for the West, but Tecmo Koei isn’t quite ready to confirm that yet. Above all else, it is interesting that Tecmo Koei thought to try out this free trial on their horror IP.
