Some new information have come out for Batman Arkham Knight, thanks to a new preview from a German magazine that got to play a demo of the game for PC.
Bear in mind that it seems likely that this is not a new demo, so these revelations are things that may have been there before and not observed. There is also no guaranteed they will be in the final game.
When you destroy something with the Batmobile, they stay destroyed for good. You are literally changing the form of the game environment while playing, and this is something that may prove relevant to the plot or gameplay in the future. It is not quite clear if this applies only to major objects, such as things you destroy to find trophies, or every thing you can destroy, such as streetlights and sides of buildings.
The demo also seems to indicate that you will be on the ground, playing as Bruce, a lot of the time. This may be a perception merely created by the demo, but this is something that would make sense.
In the original comics, and other media, Bruce usually does not spend that much time in his car. It’s in his character to be proactive, either as a vigilante crimefighter, or as a methodical detective, getting up close and personal with the crime scene.
There are other details from the demo, but unless you know German, you will have to rely on Google Translate to get them. If you don’t mind the obscurity, or you are German, you can read the original here.
Batman Arkham Knight will be released on June 2, for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows.
