Warner Bros Interactive and Rocksteady Studios have revealed the first screenshots of Arkham Knight, the antagonist of Batman: Arkham Knight. This comes with more new screens showing Batman and the Batmobile in action.
As you can see, the Arkham Knight has more than a passing resemblance to the Caped Crusader. He even has Bats’ trademark pointed ears. However, he has a crimson A on his chest in lieu of a Bat symbol, and his costume seems overall more practical, lacking a cowl and outfitted with contemporary armor pieces.
The Knight was co-designed by Rocksteady and the people at DC Comics, so it’s not impossible that this ‘new’ character has some link to the actual comics universe. My guess? It’s Anarky, all grown up and still pursuing his twisted version of a crusade of justice. This time, he’s ready to go toe-to-toe with Wayne.
Well, that would be cool, but it’s just my speculation (and only one of my guesses). The trailer makes allusions to the recent movies, with a call for all the citizens to leave the city (conveniently setting it up so you can explore the most of Gotham now, compared to before). We don’t know if that’s the Knight making those threats, or possibly the Scarecrow, but we do know it’s the setup to the most immense, possibly definitive Arkham game that we will ever see.
Barman Arkham Knight is coming October 14 to Windows, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. You can check out the other screenshots below.
