A leaked image from the Danish Origin store (via BF4Central) might have just revealed the release date for the next piece of Battlefield 4 DLC. The site has tagged Navel Strike, which includes the brand new Carrier Assault game mode and four additional maps, for a March 18 launch for Premium members.
New locations like Lost Islands, Nansha Strike, Wave Breaker, and Operation Mortar are all packed into this paid DLC, but if the date is true, that would mean that Navel Strike would come just a month after Second Assault. That’s a quick turnaround for developer DICE, who we were led to believe would hold back on new content until the game itself was more stable.
This date is also dangerously close to the launch of Titanfall, which is another EA shooter that’s grabbing some serious attention. All this information makes this seem like a bad date, but we’ll have to wait to hear if this is official before judging EA’s timing.
Navel Strike will also include the amphibious hovercraft, five new weapons, and two new gadgets – the 3GL grenade launcher for the Assault class, and the anti-helicopter mine for the Engineer class.
