Capcom has announced a brand new IP that's tentatively known as Deep Down for the PlayStation 4. It's a fantasy title that's being developed on Capcom's next-generation Panta Rhei engine.
The game takes place from the first person perspective, sometimes shifting to the third. The player takes on the role of an adventurer or soldier who delves deep into a dragon's lair in order to slay it. It looks a whole lot better than anything Skyrim can muster, with the character reacting to the dragon's fiery breath in a "realistic" manner.
The presentation ended with the player requesting help from another through the PS4's social function.
It was fairly short, if incredibly cool looking presentation that revealed a lot about Capcom's plans for the next generation. It's curious as to why the company decided to create a new IP instead of developing or announcing Dragon's Dogma 2.
That being said, we look forward to reporting more details about Deep Down as they become available.
