Super Zelda Fan Creates Working Home Automation Ocarina

March 19, 2017 by Jordan Biazzo

Now, how do we get one?

The ultimate Zelda fan has emerged from the dark corners of YouTube. You probably thought it was you all this time, with playing through the entire seasons, saving Hyrule over and over again, but you are gravely mistaken.

It seems that YouTuber Sufficiently Advanced is the ultimate Zelda fan. He recently uploaded a new video titled “Zelda Ocarina Controlled Home Automation | Zelda: Ocarina of Time “, where he shows off some crazy dedication to the series by creating a real-life working Ocarina.

Check it out for yourself down below:

With Zelda: Breath of the Wild out on the Nintendo Switch, I made a home automation system based off the Zelda series using the ocarina from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.

The Ocarina opens doors, turns on lights, and even calls phones. This whole automation was handbuilt by the YouTuber by creating an internet connected RasPi which responds to certain notes that have been heard in the game. Each sound will command a different thing, making the Ocarina a very useful object to carry around the house at all times.

The product will be going on sale starting … just kidding, but how cool would that be right? Let us know in the comments if you would pick up a working Ocarina!
