NetherRealm Studios is adding a little green to Injustice: Gods Among Us, but it's not Green Lantern or even the Martian Manhunter. Instead, the studio confirmed (via EW) that Oliver Queen a.k.a. the Green Arrow will be joining the ranks of Batman, Superman, Joker, etc. in this DC brawlfest.
While Green Arrow isn't exactly a logical choice since he's not a "top tier" superhero, the character is getting his own show titled Arrow on the CW. So his popularity might considerably be up a few notches once the game ships, no?
Watch a few of Queen's moves in the trailer below (thanks, AGB).
Green Arrow – Injustice: Gods Among Us by All-Games-Beta
It's nice that NetherRealm has added Queen's multitude of arrow types in the game. We get to see his ice arrows, exploding ones and even one that snatches up enemies and dangles them upwards.
If you're wondering why arrows damage the likes of Solomon Grundy, Superman, etc. NetherRealm has said that this will be explained in the game's storyline…as if we needed anymore reason to watch DC characters bash each other's heads in, no?
Who do you want to see unveiled next in Injustice: Gods Among Us? I gather it's only a matter of time until we see the "other" green characters get revealed, no> I mean, Green Lantern and Martian Manhunter are a bit "too big" to not be included at all, right?
Injustice: Gods Among Us is scheduled to hit the Xbox 360, PS3 and the Wii U in April of 2013.
