Orisa will arrive in Overwatch for all platforms on March 21st. Blizzard shared the news alongside a new behind-the-scenes video discussing the creation of Orisa, who is designed to serve as an “anchor” Tank-class character.
Of course, Orisa has been available on the public test realm over the past few weeks. It is also true that she has had a longer than usual stay there, something that game director Jeff Kaplan said, “will be for the better.” She has already been changed once since being introduced, with her weapon damage and Ultimate both being nerfed.
According to the video, Orisa “evolves and pushes the boundaries of what the Overwatch Universe could be.” Orisa is also the first quadruped mech in the game, and is a current guardian of Numbani.
She is both new to her role as a hero and is figuring out her place in the world. Orisa is debuting in a very early state of her character, and it is no surprised that Blizzard is very excited to see how she will make her mark on the game as she makes that transition from the PTR.
