As the Christmas season grows frighteningly closer, it's generally a bad time to be the wallet of a gamer (or relative of a gamer). Triple A titles are dropping, new consoles are selling out and the old ones are rereleasing new versions or price cutting the old ones in a bid for your cash.
In the spirit of competition (or money), Microsoft Australia has slashed the price of the Xbox 360 line of products. The basic 4GB entry-level model will be $199—enough for most of you to pick up with a single paycheck or two. But if 4GB is just a little too basic for you, don't worry— Microsoft has got your back. Special edition consoles that include lots of extra goodies like headsets and extra controllers are dropping to $399.
The biggest cut is 250Gb model (with fancy 12 GB flash memory) which is coming down $149 bringing its new price to $299. And if you're been thinking about getting a Kinect, you can either get it for $149 now or buy it in a bundle with the Xbox 360 for $299. This brings the prices closer to U.S. prices and brings it in line with other consoles in Australia, leaving Microsoft all set up to contend for your hard-earned money this holiday season.
