Ubisoft plans to spend millions of dollars to promote and market Assassin’s Creed 3 when it comes out later this year. The publisher has reportedly (via MCVUK) set aside £4 million for its ad campaign, the most it will have ever spent on marketing a single game.
Assassin’s Creed 3 is expected to vie for sales this Christmas along with Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. Given the amount of money it plans to spend, Ubisoft expects the upcoming game to be just as popular as its rivals.
“Assassin’s Creed 3 is the culmination of three years’ hard work from a team which is at the top of its game,” senior brand manager Matt Benson said.
“Our spend is in excess of £4m across marketing and trade activity, which is the largest amount we have ever committed for an Assassin’s Creed campaign.”
Assassin’s Creed 3 is set for release on October 30 in North America followed by Europe a day later for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It’s set for release on the PC later in November, and is slated to be a Wii U launch title.
