343 Industries released an ordnance drop containing screenshots for their upcoming title, Halo 4, which depict the game’s various modes including War Games, Campaign, and Spartan Ops.
We’ve covered the campaign mode in a previous post, so here are six screenshots of the game’s Spartan Ops mode that’s poised to reinvent cooperative multiplayer for the Halo series and perhaps videogames in general. Spartan Ops is the designation given to any missions conducted by the Spartans of the UNSC Infinity and officially takes place within the canon of the Halo setting.
343 Industries describes the mode as a “watershed moment of immersive, story-driven cooperative gameplay delivered in addictive, bite-sized episodic pieces.” An entire series of missions is planned for release each week for players to download and experience.
One of those pieces, The Challenge, takes place on a cold and desolate Forerunner fortress structure. Check it out below.
Exclusive to the Xbox 360, Halo 4 is set for release on November 6 worldwide.
