When Square Enix announced Final Fantasy XV it came with additional content to be released alongside the long awaited main installment. This included a featured animated film and an anime series, though if you pre-ordered a copy of Final Fantasy XV through GameSpot, you were given another title, A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV.
GameStop pre-orders came with the game as a bonus and today the title is available for free on both Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Essentially, this is a 2D action game that follows Notis’ father, King Regis along with Weskham, Cid, and Clarus as he journeys from Insomnia to Duscae, battling various enemies along the way.
The story overall takes place decades before the events of Final Fantasy XV which will give players a bit more content to play through before the first DLC of Final Fantasy XV officially launches. Even though there is an old school vibe of A King’s Tale: Final Fantasy XV, the game will feature fast-paced combat with physical, magic, summons, and companion attacks.
For now, take a look at the new trailer for the game posted right above along with a game gallery down below.
