There was going to be a learning curve when it came to Halo 5: Guardians as Microsoft took over the Halo brand. However, the company and development studio 343 Industries was not prepared for the backlash they would receive over the lack of a split-screen option.
This left some areas that both Microsoft and 343 Industries learned from and according to a report made by GameSpot, going forward any first-person shooter released by 343 Industries will have a split-screen option.
The news regarding this announcement came from 343 Industries Bonnie Ross who held a speech at DICE 2017. During this speech, we learned that the new installment to release within the Halo franchise will have a split-screen option.
We can speculate that the next installment would be Halo 6 though we will likely not see a new installment release until sometime next year.
Regardless, this announcement should please plenty of Halo fans who enjoyed going through the Halo series with a friend. For now, we’ll have to wait and see just what the next installment of Halo will be based around. Likewise, now that Microsoft’s offering its Play Anywhere feature, we will likely see the next installment release on both Xbox One and Windows 10 PC.
So far, we’ll have to wait until the next announcement is made for the beloved Microsoft exclusive franchise. There’s a good chance we may hear more about a potential Halo 6 during this year’s E3 expo.
