Some gamers may find a repeat situation of the NES Classic when it comes to the upcoming Nintendo Switch. The console is launching officially on March 3, 2017, and already GameStop has started to spread the word of how fast these consoles will go especially due to the limited supply during launch. If you haven’t pre-order your console, then you’ll want to make sure to attend a midnight launch for your chance to get your hands on a unit.
The announcement came from a report by GameSpot. According to the statements from GameStop, the retailer will have a limited supply of units during launch which few gamers who attend a midnight launch will likely get their hands on a bundle that’s not already pre-ordered.
“We will have a limited supply of the Nintendo Switch systems on launch day for walk-in customers, I would strongly suggest customers plan on attending one of our midnight launch events for a shot at securing one of these extra units. They will go fast!”
There are only two official bundles from Nintendo releasing for the Switch which only differs between the color of the included Joy-Cons. However, GameStop has added an additional two more bundles which will give gamers a copy of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild along with a strategy guide.
If supplies are truly limited then we may see another incident as we did with the NES Classic, where gamers are still having a difficult time picking up the console.
