It’s been awhile since we’ve heard of anything out of Just Cause developer Avalanche Studios, but based on a newly posted job ad, the studio appears to be working on a new addition to the Just Cause franchise.
The ad, which was posted on Gamasutra, seeks a designer to fill the position of “Vehicle Designer” at Avalanche Studios. The task of the designer will be to “design and tune many different vehicles which form the backbone of [Avalanche Studios’] next open world game.”
“Our vision is focused on player satisfaction and on innovation – our plan is to deliver stunning vehicles in terms of handling, physics simulation and destruction rendition,” the ad reads. “Something no open world to date has yet achieved.”
The game in development may possibly be a new intellectual property, but there’s a good chance that it will be Just Cause 3 given that the previous two games were described as “over-the-top vehicle experiences” much like the description for the new game, which currently remains undisclosed.
The ad goes on to state that the the new game is being developed on both current as well as next-gen platforms, so there’s a good chance that the title will be developed on both the PC and the tentatively titled Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4.
We’ll keep you posted on the game’s development as more information becomes available.
