Borderlands 2 is out tomorrow in the United States, and it is set for release a few days later in Europe. The game is expected to see the release of four upcoming DLC packs over the remainder of the year until June 2013.
In addition to the Mechromancer add-on, which is free for everyone who pre-orders Borderlands 2, the game is slated to see the release of its first DLC very shortly.
Speaking to fans at the Gearbox Software Community Day, the game's executive producer Randy Pitchford says that they can expect to see a Star Wars: Return of the Jedi-themed DLC with the first release.
"I've always wanted to ride a sail barge and drive a sand skiff," said Pitchford. "I've always wanted to do that, and we've got some cool stuff that's along those lines."
Players who purchase the Borderlands 2 Season Pass will be able to get all four of its planned expansions for the price of $30. The deal is currently available on the PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
