Treyarch bans quickscoping in Call of Duty: Black Ops

October 25, 2010 by Gameranx Staff

Treyarch community manger says, no quickscoping in final version

black ops

Few days ago, a leaked gameplay video of COD: Black Ops had showed a player quickscoping with a sniper, but a recent announcement by community manager Josh Olin has announced via twitter that quickscoping will not be a part of the final version of the game.

Josh said,

No. Quickscoping is a cheap way to play. We’re specifically going to gimp Quickscoping, sorry. Play straight-up!

He later added,

Nope. Quickscoping is way more annoying to a way larger group of people than the quickscoping community who loves to do it. #cheap

If you're one of those wondering what exactly is a "quickscope", it's basically a tactic of quickly aiming down the sight or scope of a weapon and firing almost instantly.
