If you were a fan of Omega Force’s Toukiden: The Age of Demons video game which launched back in 2014 then you’ll be delighted to know a sequel is still in the works. Simply known as Toukiden 2, the video game has not received too much information until today when publisher Koei Tecmo revealed a number of details.
According to the press release that was sent over, we know that Toukiden 2 will take place in a peaceful village of Mahoroba where the town is given the task in protecting the Shrine Maiden Kagura. However, it’s not long before Mahoroba’s rival clans threaten the safety of Kagura and the town. In order to maintain the peace, the Holy Mount releases its own force of Slayers.
With their presence, the threat and tension only increase until a mysterious new Slayer appears. Could this new Slayer establish peace between the clans or will it only ignite the short fuse sending the clans into an all-out war?
Fans of the franchise will find that there is a number of new weaponry that will be customized to each player’s combat style. Some of the weapons include swords, spears, knives, gauntlets, chain-sickles, bows, clubs, polearms, and rifles. Each weapon can be personalized and enhanced with the assistance of freed souls from fallen heroes.
Likewise, gamers can also summon Oni to fight for the player by either direct attacks or as a means of distraction, though only three Oni will be allowed per summon. You can expect Toukiden 2 to release on March 21, 2017, for the PlayStation 4, PS Vita, and PC platforms.
