Several well known game developers have united together to openly defy U.S. President Donald Trump’s immigration ban, which prevents nationals from seven Muslim-majority countries (Syria, Iran, Sudan, Libya, Somalia, Yemen and Iraq) from entering the United States. To voice their disagreement with the executive order, Kentucky Route Zero developers, Vlambeer‘s Rami Ismail and Dots creator Paul Murphy have all taken a stand by choosing to donate proceeds from their games to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
In a tweet, Murphy expressed his support for diversity and encouraged his followers to join the fight to make America welcoming again by donating to the ACLU. Ismail followed suit, and tweeted that all revenue from Vlambeer would be donated to ACLU in their opposition to the ban for a 24 hour period. Cardboard Computer, known for indie point-and-click adventure Kentucky Route Zero also said they would donate their sales of the game (which is currently 50% off on itch.io) to the ACLU.
