Somewhere between Spielberg film and eldritch horror lie these vibrantly colored, hyperrealistic Pokemon portraits conceived by artist R.J. Palmer. It’s a fitting reminder that if these cutesy Nintendo creatures existed in real life, they’d be anything but cuddly. Any one of these ickle dinos could probably tear your arm off at the shoulder, Sam Jackson style, or at least spit acid into your face.
R.J. Palmer’s series appears to only just be heating up, so do be sure to check out the artist’s growing gallery (warning: minor gore, because that’s just what a real-life Druddigon would do to a deer) for what’s sure to be an increasingly surreal set of portraits.
