Could LucasArts be working on another game other than Star Wars 1313? If their recent filings are to be believed, they could very well be.
LucasFilm has filed trademarks for Star Wars: First Assault and First Assault for use in video games, online enabled games and social networking services. In short, they filed the name for use in interactive entertainment.
The trademark classifications for First Assault are the same as the one filed for Star Wars 1313 — LucasArts' recently-announced game that no one's sure which platforms its going to be on. To add further fuel to the fire, the domain name for Star Wars: First Assault was also registered by a company that protects domain names for corporations. So no, you can't cybersquat on First Assault and expect a heavy payoff from LucasArts to relinquish it.
Unfortunately, that's all we know for now. Aside from Star Wars 1313, rumors have been non-stop regarding a Star Wars: Battlefront III game. But seeing as we still haven't heard any mention of it, it could be hibernating for next-gen platforms.
The last Star Wars game to include the word "Assault" in the title was Star Wars: Rebel Assault for the PC. First Assault might or might not be related to it. Let's just hope that whatever First Assault is, it's more Rebel Assault than Force Uneashed, eh?
