Fans of the Hitman series will be thrilled to learn that David Bateson is reprising his role as the cold-blooded killer, Agent 47.
During a visit today to IO Interactive, YouTube user Boegildzor received a USB key containing some special information that he was to access once he returned home. Upon inspecting the USB key further, Boegildzor found an audio file and played it, only to discover he was hearing the voice of Bateson discussing his return to the Hitman franchise.
Bateson, the voice of Agent 47 since the 2000 release of Codename 47, has been absent for quite some time, and fans of the series were praying for his return. IO has heard your prayers and like a benevolent god, granted your wish.
IO announced on their Facebook page that Bateson would be reprising his role as 47, and addressed the initial decision to steer away from the iconic voice actor.
Brand Director Jon Brooke said “IO and Bateson have been bed fellows for over a decade and like all long running relationships sometimes absence makes the heart grow fonder. Looking back I think we were just playing hard to get.”
Other voice talent joining the A-List roster are Marsha Thomason, Keith Carradine, Vivica Fox and Powers Boothe.
