In case you hadn’t already guessed, the “22” in 22Cans refers to the 22 wacky, unusual gaming experiences the company plans on developing.
Molyneux has already spoken at length about his upcoming MMO Curiosity—the name of which might change given the recent launch of NASA’s latest Mars rover—but news from Polygon informs us that 22Cans is already at work to make its next experiment, currently entitled Cooperation.
The game designer describes Cooperation as a social game, explaining it with the kind of ambitious zeal we’ve come to expect of him,
“Cooperation is very, very different, maybe it's not a game, or maybe you'd call it a social game. If you think of (Curiosity) being the biggest mystery posted to the digital world, Cooperation is the biggest cooperative effort the world has ever known."
Molyneux declined to say much more about Cooperation’s actual gameplay, though in vague terms we do know that there will be a competitive element of some kind. For what it’s worth, Molyneux mentions Tug of War as being a compelling, competitive social activity; though how (or if) that figures into Cooperation, is anyone’s guess.
