While Capcom certainly hasn't been shy in releasing new trailers for its upcoming games, the publisher has now revealed their official Gamescom stage demos for Resident Evil 6 and Lost Planet 3.
Admittedly, the Resident Evil 6 stage demo is almost the same one we saw before that shows Jake Muller and Sherry Berkin trying to survive inside a cabin. But the footage below includes a snippet or two that wasn't included in the original trailer.
Again, in keepin line with Capcom's odd marketing scheme, the trailer below might be considered spoiler-ish for some. So keep that in mind before pressing "play."
Next up, we have footage of Capcom's sci-fi action/horror game Lost Planet 3. The presentation is being narrated by producer Andrew Szymanski and is being played by Kenji Oguro.
In the video, we see the game's protagonist ascend an icy precipice to repair a satellite transmitter, just in time to see shadowy figure taking a cliff dive. Of course, that in itself isn't exactly nerve-wracking so Capcom introduces a large bug into the mix to make things a lot harder for the player.
I honestly do want to see if Resident Evil 6's final form will live up to its predecessors. For Lost Planet 3, I'm thinking of maybe getting Dead Space 3 instead and just play the original instead of, y'know, the game that's trying to crib it.
All seriousness though, Lost Planet 3 might turn out to be very well made, but from what we 've seen so far, Spark Unlimited seems to be following a paint-by-numbers copy on Visceral Games' hit sci-fi horror franchise.
What do you think? Which game do you like more from what you've seen so far?
