The newest live-action installment in the Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn series is out and this time they are focusing on breaking in some green recruits. To prep for entrance into the UNSC training facility, a group of men have their hair cut off in proper military tradition as they each discuss their views on enlisting with the UNSC.
Some have moral opposition against killing other people, some have a familial legacy to live up to, and some initially looked like women to me, but they all have one thing in common – emotional instability. I can only imagine the plethora of Full Metal Jacket moments this outfit would experience over the course of their training, and hopefully we get to see the trainwreck happen in slow motion through the web series.
Personifying the waves of soldiers that the players never get a chance to meet is an interesting marketing move. It's a way to extend the history of the Halo universe without getting into canon issues. The production quality is incredibly high and these videos are proving to be a great way to stave off the Halo 4 hunger until its release.
The full web series will launch in October with Halo 4 slated for a November release date.
