As one of the perks for being a paid member of EA's Battlefield 3 Premium, DICE holds regular Double XP events that are exclusive to premium members.
Earlier in the week, the Battlefield 3 Facebook page held a social event wherein every 5,000 shares they receive, they'll add a day to the Double XP weekend and this has transalted to 156 hours of Double XP goodness for Battlefield 3 Premium members.
This event will start on August 25 and will last until August 31. For the actual times when this will start and end, use this time conversion website to know if the event has started in your part of the world.
This comes at a good time, too, as DICE has recently announced that they're quadrupling the amount of official DICE servers in the game.
