When EA took to the stage at this year's Gamescom to showcase their games, one of the highlights was undoubtedly Dead Space 3.
The publisher surprised Dead Space fans a little by revealing that crafting weapons will be a new feature in Dead Space 3. Now, the folks over at Visceral Games has released a new video showcasing just how this new crafting system works.
While modifying weapons is nothing new in the franchise, Dead Space 3's "Weapons Bench" gives a whole new meaning to Isaac's Engineer occupation. In this third iteration of the space-horror franchise, Isaac can now make weapons from scratch!
If you don't want to tinker with all these, the game will also offer a system where guns can be built using a click of the button. It seems scouring for items and supplies will play a more important factor than just looking for bullets and med packs.
Hopefully, this won't relegate Dead Space 3 to just being a shooter by offering uber-weapons that can take down any foe with a single shot.
Now that we've seen how this works, is this something you'd be willing to tinker with or is this just a move by EA to further make the franchise into a shooter?
