So, what's happening with Sony's The Last Guardian? The Team ICO developed game didn't make an appearance at E3, nor was it seen during Sony's Gamescom presser.
Does this mean Sony has quietly killed the game off? Not quite, just yet. In an interview with Eurogamer, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida reveals that the game is still very much a PS3 title…but also admitted that they're re-doing work on the game that made it playable in the first place.
We had the game playable…At one point we felt that it would be produced for a certain time period. That was the time we prematurely talked about the launch window. But it turned out the technical issues are much harder to solve. So the engineering team had to go back and re-do some of the work they had done.
Yoshida also downplayed talks that the game is now switching platforms from the PS3, to its successor the PS4. Yoshida insisted, "The game is developed on the PS3,"
Well, saying the game is developed on the PS3 doesn't necessarily mean it's not going to appear on the PS4, no? Of course, that's me talking with my conspiracy hat on.
Do you think The Last Guardian will still come out this gen or is it slated for the PS4? More importantly, do you think the game's still alive?
