Creators of LittleBigPlanet Announce New Vita Game

August 14, 2012 by Jen Shaffer

Media Molecule is comprised mainly of whimsy.

Media Molecule, creators of the PlayStation 3 smash hit LittleBigPlanet, have just announced a new title for the PlayStation Vita called Tearaway. The trailer shows off the player's ability to rip into the game and affect the surroundings, taking down enemies and solving puzzles.

It's nice to see Media Molecule launching a new project. Tearaway looks to be a completely new art style for the studio as well as a new type of gameplay. The interactivity should be engaging for any experience level, keeping in step with the road that LittleBigPlanet paved.

Having additions to the Vita repertoire will also be a welcome change. With the new LittleBigPlanet Vita title on the horizon, Tearaway will be in good company. Based on the trailer, I'm hoping that upon completion of the game, the player unlocks a papercraft animal that was featured in the title that they can print out and then assemble. Currently there's a downloadable elk papercraft on the official site, so check it out and have fun playing god!
