While Call of Duty might have Call of Duty Elite and Battlefield has Battlelog, Capcom seems to be joining the social stat-tracking website fray with ResidentEvil, net
During its press conference as part of its Gamescom offering, the publisher revealed the social service which will keep track of the Resident Evil 6 progress for you and your buddies.
Sadly, the website itself is still not operational other than a "coming soon" plastered all over it. But according to Capcom, the website will display info and stats on the weapons used, enemies killed, high scores and leaderboards on the Mercenaries game mode and a lot more.
In addition, the community itself can supposedly band together to unlock new in-game content by hitting specific objectives and challenges. Think of it as something similar to Mass Effect 3's multiplayer "Operations."
For now though, this service is only available for PC, but given this day and age, don't be surprised if mobile and tablet apps become available soon.
Is this something you and your buddies woud be interested in or is Capcom just jumping on the bandwagon?
Resident Evil 6 is scheduled for release this coming October 2 for the PS3 and Xbox 360.
