Showcasing some of the teamwork which is paramount in the new terrifying Friday The 13th game, players are thrown into a large map called Higgins Haven and are left to scavenge supplies and communicate together to complete vague objectives in a variety of different ways – such as locating weapons to slow the Behemoth Jason Voorhees down while scavenging car keys to escape the map.
What appears to be so damn scary about this asymmetrical multiplayer is that Jason isn’t your only enemy. ‘Friends’ can throw you to the metaphorical wolves and abandon you in pursuit of their own survival, it can be seen at the end of the footage that one of the survivors winds up caught by Jason, and the other people playing make the decision to abandon him instead of trying to free him from Jason’s grip.
Set for release October 2016, Gun Media have pushed back the game to add a single-player component to the game – they have yet to show off this part of the game.
Friday the 13th: The Game will be available in the first quarter of 2017 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
