The developers of The Witcher 2 plan to show off the software they used to make the game at the upcoming Gamescom event which takes place in Cologne, Germany next week.
CD Projekt RED will be showcasing REDkit, which they eventually plan to release to the public. The tools will allow modders to create their own campaigns and content for the PC version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, such as new adventures, locations, and everything you could expect from a full fleged RPG.
Aside from creating original new campaigns, we can easily expect modders to take up the challenge and remake the original Witcher using the tools, or even games like Dragon Age and Baldur's Gate. Well, here's hoping that there will be some interest in remaking these campaigns.
CD Projekt RED also plans to stage a recruitment effort at the event, so if you'd like to join the game industry, it's a good a place as any to start.
